2020 Pictures of the Year Contest

Deadline: Jan. 22, 2021

The BPPA's annual Pictures of the Year contest will soon be open for entry. The entry process is similar to last year's, using an online form to calculate the number of images/stories you enter and the total entry fee. Make sure to read through the contest's rules and guidelines for further instructions about uploading your entry. Please note: cyberduck is not supported for uploading your entry.

The BPPA Contest Committee has added two additional categories for 2020.

The first is titled Racial Justice, for single photos depicting coverage of the movement for racial justice.

And the second is titled Pandemic, for single photos depicting coverage of the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.

Important dates

  • Contest opens: Dec. 20, 2020
  • Entry deadline: Jan. 15, 2021
  • Deadline to review entries: Jan. 18, 2021
  • Contest judging: Feb. 22-24, 2021

    Judging will be livestreamed. Stay tuned for future announcements.
