2022 Pictures of the Year Contest
Deadline: Jan. 25, 2023 @ 11:59pm
The entry period for the 2022 Boston Press Photographers Association 2022 Pictures of the Year contest is now open.
The entry process is the same as the past couple of years, using an online form to calculate the total entry fee and also to upload your images. You will submit the images directly through the form. You will not be using FTP to upload your images. Make sure to read through the contest's rules and guidelines for further instructions about the entry process.
If you have any questions, please contact: contest@bppa.net
The contest has largely remained the same as last year, but the Contest Committee has made the two following major changes to the rules:
- A Photographer of the Year Portfolio entry must EITHER contain photographs from at least 4 different single image categories and at least two stories OR photographs from at least 6 different single image categories and at least one story.
- For a Sports Portfolio entry MUST contain photos from 3 different sports. Events like the Olympics count as only one "sport" towards the 3 sport requirement for the singles, so a sports portfolio may not be only photos from the Olympics.
Important dates
Stay tuned for future announcements.
Before you submit, take a look at last year's winning entries.
The judges for the contest are: Alysia Burton Steele / University of Mississippi, Erin Hooley / Associated Press, and Kevin Martin / Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Good luck, and we're looking forward to seeing your work!
