Welcome to the 2020 BPPA Pictures of the Year contest.
Please use the entry form at the right to record and pay for your contest entry. Each entry is $5. A single image, a picture story, or a portfolio is considered one entry. Please note that he column on the right reflects the fee per entry and will not update to reflect your number of entries. The total at the bottom of the form will update as you add entries.
Once you have typed in the number of entries per category, click the “Add to Cart” button at the bottom of the list. A list of your entries will appear at the top of the page; click “View Cart” to finish submitting the form and pay for your entry. On the following page, double check that your entry numbers are correct and then click “Proceed to checkout.” Fill out the form with your contact details and 5-letter photographer code, and click “continue to payment” to finish and pay. Here is a video of how to use the entry form.
Full contest rules, categories and ftp submission instructions can be found here.
All entries must be submitted electronically and uploaded by the end of day on Jan. 22, 2021. Please note, cyberduck is not supported for uploading your entry.
To be eligible to enter you must be an active BPPA member, student or life member in good standing and your BPPA dues must be paid for the following year. Dues are $60 per year and 2021 dues will be automatically added to your contest entry. For a new member of the BPPA to be eligible for the contest, you must pay or have paid your current 2020 dues, as well as your 2021 dues. If you have a question about whether you paid 2020 dues (likely paid when you entered the previous contest), contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Entries must have been taken or first published between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020. See the full contest rules for picture story exceptions. Entries do not have to have been published. Previously entered images are not eligible.
If you have questions, please email email@example.com.
All members are welcome to watch the judging. It is an invaluable experience to see the extraordinary work and to hear the judge’s comments. Watch BPPA.net for announcements about the judges and the judging dates and times.
